Green Campus Network Meeting 21st Jan 2016

Members from UL’s Green Campus Committee & Environmental Committee addressed the Green Campus Network meeting which was held in Dublin recently. Click on the picture to be taken to a recording of the talk.

Emeritus Professor of Environmental Science Dr Richard Moles launched an EPA funded project being undertaken at UL entitled ‘Transitioning to Sustainable Communities: Evaluation of the Role of Third Level Campuses in Delivering Change’.

Dr Yvonne Ryan, postdoctoral researcher at UL with the Centre for Environmental Research at UL gave a talk on ensuring continuity of environmental education and action for sustainable development throughout the Irish Education System.

Dr Chris Fogarty, Energy Manager at UL  described UL’s journey towards the Green Flag.

Deirdre O’Carroll from An Taisce gave a fascinating update on Green Campus activities during 2015.

Andrew Mackarel outlined HEAnet’s interaction with An Taisce on Green Campus.

Dr Bryan Fields explained SOLAS’s position on forming an ESD strategy for the Further Education Sector.

Edward Murphy detailed CUH’s plan for a sustainable future.

Helen Maher summarised the HSE’s thinking on sustainability through campus collaborations.

Dr Úna Fitzpatrick gave an overview of the All Ireland Pollinator Plan 2015-2020.

The DEHLG presented a brief review of policy and the marine environment.
