To mark today’s Global Strike for Climate and Fridays For Our Future, UL’s Environmental Society has put together a promotional video (click on the below picture to view). The music video showcases Greta Thunberg talking about the environment, and reiterating that we have all the solutions already, but nothing is being done about it. After this the song starts and showcases children taking action to better the world the best way they can.
Today a Global Strike for Climate is taking place. Over the last 13 months millions of school children from around the world have been leaving their schools each Friday to demand Climate Action. Ahead of the UN Climate Action Summit in a few days’ time, UL students are gathering to demand climate action at a national and international level. Whilst this Global Strike for Climate won’t solve the climate crisis, it does signify a call-to-action for world leaders to come up with effective and credible plans to stop emissions increasing by 2020 and dramatically reduce emissions to reach net-zero by mid-century. The time for Climate Action is now.
